PROVIDENCE – The family of the late Sylvia Moubayed, proprietor of CAV Restaurant in Providence has announced that the beloved eclectic eatery will remain open. The announcement was made to Sylvia’s extended restaurant family and will be welcome news to CAV’s many guests and friends. Moubayed who passed away on September 13, had been an enduring and creative culinary force since opening the doors to her Jewelry District restaurant in 1989.

In a meeting with employees last week, sons Shereen, John and Peter Moubayed assured friends and patrons that they will keep the doors of CAV open under Moubayed ownership and will continue to entrust the food creation, event management and restaurant experience to CAV’s team of long-term employees. “CAV is a reflection of our mother’s spirit, creativity and vision,” said Shereen Moubayed.  “We are fortunate to have talented and loyal employees who are equally committed to keeping this CAV family together.  We understand that each person is a key contributor and an essential ingredient in our mother’s recipe of making CAV a warm, inviting place that customers treasure.”
