North Providence resident Paula Iacono has been named Executive Director of the CharterCARE Foundation. She is a graduate of Bryant University and was previously Development Officer for CharterCARE Health Partners. In addition she currently serves as Vice President & Treasurer of Childrens Wish Group of RI, a Warwick based nonprofit, and an advisory board member of Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence, in Pawtucket. She also served as past president of the RI Heritage Hall of Fame.
As a result of the 2014 purchase of CharterCARE Health Partners by Prospect Medical Holdings LLC, a California based for profit company, the CharterCARE Foundation has become an independent 501©3 community foundation with a mission to provide grant funds for affordable health related services including nursing and medical scholarships, research grants, educational clinics focusing on diabetes, mental health issues, cancer, pediatric oral health and addiction programs. The Foundation is located at 7 Waterman Avenue, North Providence.
