MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries has introduced the TracPhone V3-HTS, or high-throughput satellite, antenna for connectivity at sea, the company announced.
It’s a lightweight, ultra-compact marine antenna designed to provide faster data speeds than larger antennas, according to the company, making it a suitable choice for smaller crafts such as powerboats or sailboats, or commercial vessels where space is at a premium. It can be used on boats as small as 25 feet.

KVH engineered the TracPhone V3-HTS antenna to go with its mini-VSAT Broadband HTS maritime network.
“KVH streamlines the entire process of getting broadband on the boat by offering monthly airtime and value-added services to create an end-to-end solution,” said Brent Bruun, KVH’s chief operating officer, in a statement.
The TracPhone V3-HTS is the company’s second HTS antenna design; it introduced the 60-centimeter diameter Ku-band TracPhone V7-HTS last year. The TracPhone V3-HTS is manufactured by KVH at its headquarters in Middletown.
It introduced the new antenna at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida.
