PROVIDENCE – Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island plans to give away a total of $10,000 throughout the year through its 25th Anniversary Charitable Giving Program.
The effort, kicked off in mid-June, recognizes members and nonprofits who are making a difference in Rhode Island by making donations on their behalf to deserving organizations.

Eloise Ricci of Lincoln was the first to be honored through the program. Ricci has fostered more than 60 children and adopted five in addition to her own four biological children.
Neighborhood was the primary health insurance plan for the children she cared for in foster care.
Ricci chose to award a $2,500 donation to Adoption Rhode Island, which partners with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to implement the adoption program Wendy’s Wonderful Kids. The program focuses on finding adoptive homes for older children, sibling groups and children with special needs.

We look forward to making additional donations to nonprofit organizations throughout the year as we learn of compelling member stories and causes that are important to them.”
