PROVIDENCE – American Institute of Architects Rhode Island has bestowed its 2019 awards for architectural work, including several local firms.
According to its website, the Rhode Island organization awarded South Street Landing in Providence with a merit award, its highest recognition. The building renovation from an industrial to an educational use was designed by Tsoi Kobus Design in Boston.

Quahaug Point House, a private residence in Westerly, won a merit award as well. Its architect was Estes Twombly Architects Inc., of Newport.
And Franklin Library, a new addition to what is considered the oldest library in the nation, also won a merit award. The architect was LLB Architects, of Pawtucket.
