WARWICK – Local troops from Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England over the last couple months collected and donated items to families in need during the holiday season.
GSSNE says Barrington-based Troop 723 adopted a family from Providence-based nonprofit Children’s Friend and Service, where each Scout bought items from the family’s wish list. Items the Scouts purchased included diapers, clothes, books, winter jackets, cold weather accessories, baby wipes, toys and gift cards.

Additionally, Girl Scouts from Providence, such as Troop 178 and Troop 214, collected personal care and nonperishable food items for Operation Stand Down Rhode Island’s food pantry, GSSNE said.
