Patrick served as Massachusetts governor from 2007 to 2015 and previously served as assistant attorney general for civil rights under President Bill Clinton. He is now a senior partner at Vistria Group and a Hauser Leader at Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership.
“Deval Patrick’s career-long dedication to civil rights leadership speaks for itself,” Eastern Bank Foundation CEO and President Turahn Dorsey said in a statement.
The event comes as Eastern Bank parent Eastern Bankshares Inc. continues its expansion into Rhode Island following its acquisition of HarborOne Bancorp.
Eastern Bankshares completed the acquisition in November 2025, adding about $4.5 billion in loans and $4.3 billion in deposits and expanding its Eastern Bank branch network into Rhode Island.
The combined bank now has more than 120 banking locations across eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
