BankFive was among several local companies and individuals to step in recently to support the Fall River Public Library’s commission for a Sept. 11 memorial painting. The painting, “Human Emotion at a Moment in Time” by Fall River artist Tiago Finato, was unveiled at the library on Sept. 11, 2011.
“When I was contacted by Paula Costa Cullen, library administrator, about this project I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to get together with local business leaders and present an amazing gift to the community,” said Bill Eccles, president and CEO of BankFive. “There was no hesitation from any one of the donors. … This painting will be like no other painting at the library.”
The 6-foot-by-7-foot painting was supported by Bogle & DeAscentis PC, Borden & Remington Corp., Collins Construction Co. Inc., First Bristol Corp. and Insurit Agency Inc., as well as Bob Karam, Michael Biszko and Alan Biszko. All of the donors were on hand for the unveiling of the piece, which is on display in the library’s main lobby. •
