PROVIDENCE – Vic Vetters was named the new vice president and general manager of WJAR-TV NBC 10 on Tuesday.
Vetters will begin on Oct. 3. He replaces Lisa Churchill who retired from the station on June 30.
Vetters was the vice president and group manager of WFFF-TV and WVNY-TV in Burlington, Vt., and WKTV-TV, an NBC afilliate in Utica, N.Y. since 2007.
“Vic has a winning track record and brings a uniquely qualified mix of station leadership knowledge and skills to his new position,” said Dan Bradley, Media General’s group leader for its Ohio and Rhode Island operations. “His extensive experience in revenue generation, digital media and local news operations will be a tremendous asset to WJAR and its website turnto10.com in the Providence market.”
Vetters is a practicing attorney and a member of the New York State Bar, the station said in a news release. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., and earned his M.S. from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Albany Law School.
