PROVIDENCE – A state Senate commission has been created to study Rhode Island business laws and recommend adoption of best practices to improve the business climate.
The nine-member Special Senate Commission To Study The Rhode Island Corporation and Partnership Acts will consist of three senators, not more than two of whom shall be from the same political party, to be appointed by the president of the Senate; the secretary of state or his designee; a representative of the Rhode Island Bar Association; a certified public accountant; the presiding justice of the Superior Court, or her designee; and two representatives of Rhode Island businesses, one from a company of less than 100 employees and one from a company of greater than 100 employees. •
