Gilbane opens Springfield office

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Rhode Island-based construction juggernaut Gilbane Building Co. has opened an office in Springfield, Mass.
Gilbane said the office, at 1145 Main St., will support local projects and complement the company’s New England headquarters office in Boston. It opened May 1 and has three employees.
The company has recently worked on the MassMutual Center in Springfield, the Unified Science Center at Williams College in Williamstown, and Chicopee’s Comprehensive High School. Gilbane is also building the Longmeadow High School scheduled for completion in 2013.
“Having been born and raised in Longmeadow, I have a personal connection to seeing this area flourish,” said Ryan Hutchins, Gilbane’s New England regional manager. “From our past involvement in landmark projects like the MassMutual Convention Center to our current work at the 240,000-square-foot Longmeadow High School, we’re looking forward to being a key part of the local economy’s future growth.”
