PawSox named safe workplace for teens

PAWTUCKET – The R.I. Department of Health last month presented the Pawtucket Red Sox organization with the Safe Place for Teens to Work certification and award.
Receiving the award for the second time, the organization is the only company in the state that has achieved this status.
In order to receive the Safe Place for Teens to Work certification and award, employers must meet certain requirements, including: Not allowing teenagers to work late on a school night, having safety training before starting employment with the company, not allowing teenagers to operate equipment that is considered “dangerous,” providing supervision for teen employees, and strict policy against workplace violence and sexual harassment. •
