PROVIDENCE – Paul Hanlon and Monica Neronha were both promoted to the position of vice president, officials at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island announced recently.
Neronha, as vice president of legal services, will manage government relations, information assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery, special investigations, and audit and recovery services.
She is the company’s expert on federal health care reform efforts. She has addressed numerous groups – including business groups, charitable organizations, physicians, unions, brokers, and employers – about the impact health care reform will have on Rhode Island.
Hanlon, as vice president of information technology, will oversee technology infrastructure and application development, as well as to lead the Enterprise Program Management Office.
Hanlon has played an integral role in improving the company’s technology, achieving cost savings without reducing necessary support to the business. He also has established an architectural process that will allow the insurer to make optimal use of existing technology capabilities. •
