PROVIDENCE – Deepwater Wind, the offshore wind farm developer, has established its corporate headquarters at 56 Exchange Terrace in Providence, where the company has maintained its development office since April 2009, Deepwater said on Monday.
“The establishment of our corporate headquarters in Providence furthers our commitment to establishing an East Coast wind-energy hub,” said William Moore, Deepwater Wind CEO.

“This is good news,” said Gov. Donald L. Carcieri. “This decision by Deepwater Wind to relocate its corporate headquarters to Rhode Island is further proof of the company’s commitment to help us develop the nation’s first offshore wind farm and create good paying jobs for Rhode Islanders.”
Deepwater Wind also announced new senior management hires, including Chris van Beek as the managing director and chief of technology, projects and operations, and Aileen Kenney, director of permitting.
Additionally, Jeffrey Grybowski will spearhead the group’s national and local public-policy strategies as the chief administrative officer and senior vice president of strategy and external affairs.
“I’m excited to join a company and an industry that I’ve become so passionate about,” said Grybowski. “Offshore wind represents the future of American energy, and Rhode Island is at the epicenter of that effort. I’m proud to be a part of this burgeoning industry.”
The offshore wind developer also maintains offices in New Shoreham and Hoboken, N.J.
