FALL RIVER – Bristol Community College will offer an online introduction to green technologies this fall. Enrollment is now open, and students can take it either as a credit course or as modules not for credit.
The course, Introduction to Sustainable and Green Energy Technologies, is offered by The Green Center, part of the Center for Workforce and Community Education. Students may participate in hands-on labs and field trips that reinforce the topics of the various modules.
The 12 modules are designed for construction professionals, high school/ vocational educators and consumers. The course is offered as an elective for engineering students as well and includes lessons on geothermal heating and cooling, efficient lighting, site design for energy savings, and solar photovoltaic systems.
For credit, the course costs $438 plus required fees. For noncredit, it costs $41 per module or $451 for all 12. The course is offered online. •
