2010 Cox Charities gives to 11 programs

Cox Charities awards annual community grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to organizations that support after-school programs.
Providence Summerbridge was among 11 local nonprofits to receive the 2010 Cox Charities Community Grant. In recognizing Providence Summerbridge for its focus on youth and education, Cox Charities awarded the nonprofit a $10,000 grant.
“Through Cox Charities, Cox Communications is able to support nonprofit organizations working to provide children the opportunities to grow and learn after school, ultimately making a positive impact on our local communities,” said Paul Cronin, senior vice president and general manager, Cox Communications New England.
Other local grant recipients were: Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, Boys & Girls Club of Warwick, The College Crusade of Rhode Island, City Year Rhode Island, Newport Community School, South Kingstown CARES and Save The Bay. Three organizations from Connecticut also received grants. •
