BOSTON – Massachusetts Gov. Deval L. Patrick has announced nearly $1 million in grants for community- and school-based programs aimed at boosting work force development efforts for so-called “green-collar” jobs.
The funding includes a $196,666 grant for the Bristol Community College to develop an online course in green energy design and building. The course will include workshops targeted at building industry professionals and vocational school students.
Additionally, a $150,460 grant will fund the Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District to develop weatherization and solar-thermal curriculums. •
