EAST PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Builders Association next month will host a seminar on Green Building techniques.
Daniel J. “Dan” Paquette, chairman of RIBA’s Green Building Committee, will speak about the “guiding principals” of sustainable design. His presentation will detail the Green Building Guidelines established by the National Association of Home Builders (READ MORE), and discuss how they can be used in home design and homeowner education.

Attendees at the June 12 seminar will also learn how to use the Green Building Scoring Tool, an NAHB Web site that estimates the award level – gold, silver or bronze – for which a building might qualify under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
