NEW YORK – Providence Equity Partners LLC funds asked a judge for a hearing on “tens of millions of dollars” in claims against Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.’s defunct brokerage, according to a court filing.
The brokerage denied their claims, saying they were customers of Lehman’s European affiliate and not of the U.S. brokerage, according to the Oct. 28 filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan. According to the funds, Lehman Brothers International (Europe) filed claims on their behalf but was “never authorized” to do so.
