PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island gasoline prices have risen for the ninth consecutive week, to 62 cents per gallon above their price in mid-February, according to AAA Southern New England.
The nonprofit auto club’s April 16 price survey found self-serve regular averaging $2.799 per gallon, 5 cents more than last week. This year’s lowest price was the Feb. 12 survey’s $2.179 per gallon.
A year ago – during another nine-week runup in prices – the average price was $2.749, AAA said.
The range in self-service prices for unleaded regular in this week’s survey was 16 cents, from $2.739 per gallon to $2.899. Greater ranges were seen for other grades.
Average self-serve prices for other grades of fuel were $2.909 per gallon for midgrade unleaded, $3.029 for premium unleaded and $2.899 for diesel.
Full-serve prices this week averaged $2.859 per gallon for regular, $2.949 for midgrade, $3.059 for premium and $2.949 for diesel.
