AAA: R.I. gas prices rise 7¢ to $2.749

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island gasoline prices have risen for the eighth consecutive week, to 57 cents per gallon above their mid-February level, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s April 9 survey of local gas prices found self-serve, unleaded regular averaging $2.749 per gallon, an increase of 7 cents over the past week and 14 cents from the survey two weeks ago. A year ago, the average price was $2.659.
The range in prices for self-serve regular in the latest survey was 10 cents, from $2.699 to $2.799, the nonprofit auto club reported. Wider ranges were found for most other grades.
Average self-serve prices for other grades of fuel this week were $2.859 per gallon for midgrade unleaded; $2.969 for premium unleaded; and $2.829 for diesel.
