AAA: R.I. gasoline rises 3¢, to $2.609/gallon

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island’s self-service price for regular gasoline has risen 3 cents in the past week, in its sixth straight week of increases, AAA Southern New England reports.

Self-serve, unleaded regular averaged $2.609 per gallon in AAA’s March 26 survey, compared with $2.579 on March 19. The average price has risen 43 cents per gallon in the past six weeks.

A year ago, the average price was $2.459.
The range in prices for self-serve regular in the latest survey was 11 cents, from a low of $2.569 to a high of $2.679. Wider ranges were reported for most other grades of fuel.

Rhode Island’s other average self-serve prices this week were: $2.719 per gallon for midgrade unleaded; $2.829 for premium unleaded; and $2.749 for diesel.
