WARWICK – Air Canada announced Wednesday it would be establishing a daily flight between Toronto and T.F. Green Airport.

The company announced several new transborder flights that will begin in the spring of 2018. The Providence-Toronto flights will begin May 17.

The route has been designated as a summer seasonal flight, from May to early October, as opposed to year round. The company will fly a Air Canada Express 50-seat CRJ for the route.

Air Canada discontinued a flight between T.F. Green and Toronto in 2013.

“We continue to strategically expand our already extensive North American transborder network to offer the only services from Canada to Sacramento, Omaha, Providence, and flights from additional Canadian airports to Baltimore, Pittsburgh and San Francisco,” said Benjamin Smith, president, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada in a statement.

The R.I. Airport Corp. was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
