Airbus adopts software from Dassault Systèmes

PARIS and PROVIDENCE – Dassault Systèmes, a developer of 3D and product lifecycle management solutions, recently announced that Airbus has adopted the Abaqus Finite Element Analysis software from SIMULIA, the Providence-based Dassault Systèmes brand for realistic simulation.
The multi-year agreement – under which Dassault will provide software and services to Airbus sites in France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain – represents a first step in what is to develop into a longer-term collaborative relationship, Dassault said.
Airbus will use the Abaqus FEA software to support development of advanced virtual testing methods and has already used it in its A380 aircraft program for structural virtual testing.
