SOUTH KINGSTOWN – APC by Schneider Electric has received an environmental award from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Uptime Institute, a research and advocacy group that promotes efficiency and reliability in IT systems and data centers.
The two organizations honored APC with a 2009 Green Enterprise IT Award in the category of Energy Efficient Products. The award was given for APC’s line of InRow cooling products, which include active response controls and integrated thermal containment to reduce energy use.
“We congratulate and honor APC for its pioneering work in reducing energy consumption in data centers,” said Kenneth Brill, founder and executive director of the Uptime Institute.
The award was presented at a ceremony in New York City during the institute’s fourth annual research symposium, where APC and other award winners gave presentations about their work. ••
