PROVIDENCE – The deadline to apply for the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Health Accelerator is Aug. 1, the business incubator reminded Wednesday.
The nonprofit’s program begins mid-September and offers an industry-tailored curriculum and advising, customized face-to-face instruction and peer learning, and access to SEG networks to help entrepreneurs grow their business in Rhode Island and beyond.

The SEG Accelerator, SEG’s signature venture-development program, includes a 12-week blended-learning model that provides high-impact social entrepreneurs the tools, networks and resources to validate their idea, understand their customer and formalize growth strategies from fundraising to social impact measurement. Additional value is provided by one-on-one business coaching, a peer-learning cohort model and access to SEG’s co-working space at 10 Davol Square in Providence. Upon graduation, participants will receive priority access to the SEG Loan Fund, which provides growth capital to high-potential social enterprises.
The purpose of the Health and Wellness Accelerator program is to stimulate innovation in Rhode Island’s burgeoning health and wellness sector and to help create more successful, sustainable “Do Well, Do Good” businesses.
The opportunity is available to all Health and Wellness ventures that address topics including:
- Public health/population health
- Behavioral health
- Wellness/alternative therapies
- Health care/digital health/mHealth
- Health education/promotion
- Healthy aging for all
- Reduction of health inequalities
