NEW BEDFORD – A $3 million, 58,000-square-foot manufacturing plant being built for Atlantic Lighting Inc. is set be completed during October.
Construction of the design-build project started in May 2008, Bufftree Building Company Superintendent Jack Sawyer said recently in a statement.
He continued, “It is a versatile structure designed to hold down costs and retain long-term value, but it has aesthetic appeal as well. One of its more interesting features in the administrative area is the long bands of ribbon windows that maximize the amount of daylight and provide panoramic views of the natural, rural setting.
The exterior is metal paneling around the manufacturing areas and a split-faced concrete block and stucco in the office area, Bufftree said. Of the total square feet, 50,000 square feet will house manufacturing and assembly space. The remaining 8,000 square feet will be a two-level office.
The building, on Commerce Drive in the Commerce Park of Fall River, will replace the company’s current 168 Stevens Street headquarters in Fall River.
