PROVIDENCE – AVTECH Software has been selected by the United Nations Mission in Liberia to provide IT and facilities-environment monitoring products for 40 critical data and communications centers in Africa. Financial terms were not disclosed.
UNMIL, established in 2003 to oversee a ceasefire agreement in Liberia, continues to support the peace process and protect human rights in the region. The new technology from AVTECH will help prevent downtime and hardware replacement in the mission’s data and communications systems.
The company’s new Room Alert 26W systems will be installed in UNMIL data centers in Liberia and surrounding nations. The wireless system allows remote or on-site monitoring of computer-room temperature, humidity, power, room entry and other factors, helping to avoid or minimize damage and downtime.
The United Nations already uses AVTECH products at locations including its world headquarters in New York City.
