PROVIDENCE – Three of Providence’s most prominent landmarks have a new face on the Internet.
The R.I. Convention Center Authority unveiled last week revamped Web sites for the R.I. Convention Center, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. The authority said it wanted to bring all the sites under a single umbrella and common marketing theme.
“Our sites needed to be refreshed, particularly since Veterans Memorial Auditorium was added to the [authority’s] portfolio,” said David Duffy, chairman of the authority. “The new look will greatly enhance our marketing efforts in that the sites have been simplified and are very easy to use.”
The state transferred control of the auditorium to the authority last year.
The new sites – at www.riconvention.com, www.dunkindonutscenter.com, www.vmari.com and www.rhodeislandcomplex.com – share a common layout theme and colors punctuated with large photographs. The authority hired Providence-based Nail Communications to carry out the redesign.
“This project was unique in the fact that it had four sites with layers and layers of redundant content,” said Jeremy Crisp, principle of Nail Communications. “Our team examined every inch of the old sites to decide what stayed and what didn’t and in the end we have four streamlined sites that are easy to navigate and eye-catching.”
