Bergmann, the Providence-based health insurer’s vice president and chief people officer, says the organization is “very intentional” about how it provides support to its associates. This includes asking employees about the culture they want to create, as well as reviewing the benefits annually.

Some of Blue Cross’ newer initiatives include working with Hinge Health to offer a free pain care program, along with Maven, which provides support for menopause, pregnancy and parenting. One of Bergmann’s personal favorites is BlueCare Connect, an app that organizes wellness benefits and plans in one place. “I Iove it; I actually log in almost every day,” ­Bergmann said.
