PROVIDENCE – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island has rolled out its 2020 Medicare Advantage plan, which the insurer says includes benefits intended to supplement health care, wellness and fitness needs.
The plans include:
- Rides to doctor appointments.
- Meal deliveries after hospital stays.
- Free routine hearing tests.
- No copay for some generic mail-order drugs.
- No cost for online visits with doctors.
- Other health and wellness perks.
“Our customers told us that they wanted benefits that would allow them to stay healthy and get the most out of their retirement years,” said Melissa Cummings, Blue Cross’ executive vice president and chief customer officer. “I’m thrilled that we’re able to offer new and expanded benefits, many at no cost, that support staying well but that also provide extra help when it’s needed.”
Eligible adults can enroll or make changes to their Medicare plan until Dec. 7. Plans go into effect on Jan. 1, 2020.
