Boat House, Tiverton police collect donated toys for community

TIVERTON – The Boat House restaurant and the Tiverton Police Department collected hundreds of toys to distribute to local children through the department’s annual Operation Blue Santa toy drive.

The toys were collected at an event hosted by the restaurant on Dec. 13. Close to 75 people attended and hundreds of toys were collected, the restaurant said, including $200 worth of toys donated by the restaurant.

“During the holidays, Newport Restaurant Group understands that the needs within our community grow exponentially,” Boat House General Manager Louis Capodilupo said in a statement. “We are so pleased to partner with the Tiverton Police Department on this initiative once again, and hope that the gifts collected will make a joyful impact on the kids in our community.”
