The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently donated $30,000 to the West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation to support construction and rehabilitation of homes in the West End section of Providence.
“Financial literacy and understanding the home ownership purchasing process are invaluable tools to community development,” said Sharon Conard-Wells, executive director of West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation. “Helping first-time buyers and youth to become strong, educated consumers has an immeasurable positive impact that will benefit us all for years to come. West Elmwood Housing wouldn’t be nearly as effective in our work without this kind of financial support from our Bank of America partners.”
“Bank of America is proud to continue its support of the West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation,” said William F. Hatfield, president of Bank of America Rhode Island. “[The organization] provides a valuable service to many families in Providence, helping families move from substandard housing to safe and affordable homes.” •
