PROVIDENCE – The median sale price of a single-family home in 2020 in Bristol County, Mass., was $355,000, an increase of 9.3% year over year, according to The Warren Group.
Sales in the county totaled 4,978 in 2020, an increase of 2.2% year over year.

“In the wake of the first COVID-19 lockdown way back in March, single-family home sales took a nosedive for the entire second quarter,” said Timothy Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. “If you told me back then that by the end of the year that the total number of sales would surpass 2019, there’s no way I would have believed you … yet here we are. Another record-setting year in the books for Massachusetts real estate.”
Condo sales in Bristol County, Mass., totaled 997 in 2020, a rise of 2.7% from one year prior. The median sale price for the year was $245,000, a rise of 7% year over year.
Statewide, condo sales in Massachusetts declined 1.4% year over year to 24,193. The median sale price of sales in the state was $415,000, a rise of 9.2% year over year.
“Since the majority of the Massachusetts condo market is centered on densely populated urban areas, condos were more susceptible to the impact of COVID-19 in 2020,” Warren added. “At the beginning of the year, condo market activity was poised to rival trends normally reserved for single-family homes, but that didn’t turn out to be the case.”
Bristol County, Mass., is made up of 20 municipalities, including the cities of Attleboro, Taunton, Fall River and New Bedford.
