PROVIDENCE – Brown Emergency Medicine has launched a new virtual platform enabling its emergency physicians to treat patients for a range of mild to moderate medical issues.
The TeleCARE platform is designed to address conditions normally treated in doctors’ offices, urgent care clinics or emergency rooms.

TeleCARE was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is open to Rhode Island residents of all ages. It allows patients with conditions such as respiratory illnesses, fever, rash, urinary tract infections, allergies and sports injuries to see a physician via a video visit.
“We are pleased to offer this telehealth option to the community,” said Dr. Jeremiah “Jay” Schuur, president of Brown Emergency Medicine. “TeleCARE makes it simple for patients to meet virtually with a board-certified emergency physician and board-certified pediatric emergency physician at a time that fits their schedule. It’s like having an emergency doctor on-call for you and your family.”
Appointments are available at www.brownemtelecare.org seven days a week from noon through midnight.
