Bufftree constructing Westport building

WESTPORT – Bufftree Building Company has been awarded a $1.6 million contract for the construction of a 3,000-square-foot wood-frame Beach Services Building at Horseneck Beach in Westport.
Construction is underway with a completion date scheduled for June 2009. The new building will “complement the unique Horseneck Beach environment of sweeping dunes, endless ocean beach and estuary habitat. The building has been designed by Stephen Kelleher Architects of Fairhaven.
“This building will become the flagship facility of the central plaza,” Principal Architect and owner Stephen L. Kelleher said in a statement. “The project includes administrative offices, lifeguard quarters, first aid station and a comfort station. The building is designed in the historic New England shingle style and will match the two award-winning bathhouses completed in the summer of 2008.”
