Robin C. Branca has joined Kahn, Litwin Renza & Co., Ltd. as a senior accountant. She is a member of the firm’s accounting and auditing department where she is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and for conducting audits, compilations and reviews for the firm’s business and not-for-profit clients. She has a BS in business administration from Bryant College and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in computer information systems at Bentley College. David A. Platt
David A. Platt has joined the staff of Rooney, Plotkin & Willey, LLP. Previously with Cookson America, and formerly a manager with Ernst & Young, LLP, Platt is a graduate of The Citadel. The Newport resident is currently anticipating his juris doctorate degree from Roger Williams School of Law. Dan Madole, former Hill, Holiday art director, has joined RDW Group, as associate creative director. Madole, who handles ACD/art direction for the Autolines, Cybex Fitness International and Roger Williams Park Zoo accounts, will assist RDW creative director Tony Gill. Walter D. Soja
Walter D. Soja has been named “Preceptor of the Year” for 1998 by the University of Rhode Island’s College of Pharmacy. Soja, who holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and pharmacy from URI has been the director of pharmacy at Butler Hospital for 19 years, and the clinical pharmacist at Hospice Care of Rhode Island. URI pharmacy students at both sites nominated Soja for the award, which honors his dedication and skill in working with pharmacy students during their clinical experiences. The Cranston resident holds a master’s degree in pharmacy form Northeastern University, and is presently pursuing his doctor of pharmacy degree at URI.

Peter Brown
Peter Brown has been appointed assistant vice president and manager of community residential landing at The Washington Trust Company. The Tiverton resident is responsible for the implementation and administration of community residential lending. Joining Washington Trust with over 12 years of mortgage experience, he was most recently with North American Mortgage Company. Brown received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business form Bryant College. He is a member of the Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association and Business Volunteers for the Arts.

Janet Rumson of Smithfield has been named director of marketing at Enervations, Inc. Prior to joining the distributor of 3M window film products, she owned and operated the Blue Heron Publishing and Design Company of Esmond. In her new capacity Rumson will direct corporate marketing activities for the company, and also support the marketing needs of their thirty-eight 3M dealers throughout New England, and in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Yulia Timashpolsky
Yulia Timash-polsky, MD has been granted medical staff privileges from the South-coast Hospitals Group at its St. Luke’s site in New Bedford, Mass. A graduate of the First Moscow Medical School in Russia, Timashpolsky completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in non-invasive cardiology. She has served as an attending physician at Quincy Hospital, South Shore Hospital and St. Elizabeth Medical Center of Boston. She is Board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians and of the Massachusetts Medical Society.

James Le Donne
James Le Donne has been appointed director of food and beverage at Castle Hill Inn and Resort. Formerly with the Marriott Hotel, Newport, he will have responsibility for Castle Hill’s restaurant and catering departments. Prior to the Marriott, he was banquet manager for the Westin Hotel in Providence, and was previously at the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh as sales manager. Castle Hill Inn and resort is a division of Newport Harbor Corporation, which also owns and operates The Mooring Restaurant, Newport Exhibition Group, Newport yachting Center Marina and Special Events, Newport Waterfront Festivals and the Smokehouse Café’.

Brian J. Gumkowski
Brian J. Gum-kowski has been promoted to marketing services manager at the Newport Harbor Corporation. His new role is to oversee the public relations coordinator and the marketing assistant. He will be directly responsible for all marketing, advertising and public relations for each or the NHC’s five business units. Working in the marketing department of the company for three years, Gumkowski graduated from Bryant College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Stanley P. DeAngelis has been named president of WorkPlace Dynamics, Inc.; a company dedicated to creating dynamic workplaces where employees are fully engaged in the company and feel more connected to their work. A founding partner of Vision III Architects, a company he started in his basement eleven years ago, DeAngelis said he plans on designing programs to engage employees in the vision and goals of the company.
