Jeffrey Pivorunas
ARCHITECTURE
Jeffrey Piv-orunas of Vision III Architects has been promoted to the position of project manager. He will now assume the responsibilities of client relations, management of design and production, staffing, and the guidance of co-workers on multiple projects. He is currently directing the company’s work on several projects with Brown University and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Providence. In addition, he is responsible for the company’s work for United Rentals and the Rhode Island Foundation. Pivorunas currently heads the standards and quality team at Vision III.
BANKING
William D. Gibson
William D. Gibson has been appointed to the position of senior vice president of credit administration at The Washington Trust Company. In this position he will be responsible for the administration of the Bank’s credit and loan review policies, managing special assets, and will be the Bank liaison to outside auditors and regulators. Upon receiving a master’s degree in business from Babson College, Gibson joined Shawmut Bank as an officer and branch manager. He then worked for Citizens Bank as a senior vice president of credit review and senior vice president of credit and loan administration for 22 years. Before grad school, Gibson received his bachelor’s degree from Brown, and served in the United States Army.

David M. Murray has been named vice president of marketing at Bank of Newport. His responsibilities will include strategic marketing initiatives. Murray, a Seekonk, Mass. resident was creative director of the marketing group at the former Old Stone Bank Corporation. He previously served as art director at WJAR-TV. Prior to joining Bank of Newport, he was with ACCU-Graphics of East Providence and most recently the Northeast Group of Wickford.
BUILDING
Ed Ladoucer of Stormtite Company, Inc. of Warwick has won the 1999 Award of Distinction by The Vinyl Siding Institute for the historic restoration of Warwick Central Baptist Church. This is one of the first historic buildings in America to be approved by the Department of Interior and the local Historic District Commission to be vinyl sided. Stormtite also received this award in 1992 for the restoration of the Greenville Baptist Church.

Colleen Dennis Keating
Colleen Dennis Keating has been named the “Best of the Best” among the sales professionals of Bass Hotels & Resorts’ Crowne Plaza division. She was recognized as the chain’s top sales director at its annual conference in San Antonio, Texas. Dennis Keating and her group boosted the Warwick hotel’s group business by over 38 percent above 1995-1997 averages.

Michael Gale
Michael Gale has been named marketing and trade show consultant for The International Fashion Jewelry & Accessory Group. He has 40 years of experience in the jewelry industry and was a founder of Gale Associates, a founder of the Fashion Jewelry Foundation, a director and chairman of the United Jewelry Show, a director and president of National Council of Salesman’s Organizations and president of the Costume Jewelry Salesman’s Association. The group plans to hold the Providence show in late September.

Danielle Menard
Providence resident Danielle Menard has joined the Providence office of the law firm of Peabody & Brown as a litigation associate. She will concentrate her practice in commercial litigation. After receiving her JD from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, Calif, she served as a Rhode Island Special Assistant Attorney General in the juvenile unit before joining Peabody & Brown. Menard is a member of the bar in both Rhode Island and California. Prior to law school, she was a management consultant for the firm of KPMG Peat Marwick in Washington, D.C.

Cindy A. Dugan
Cindy A. Dugan of Johnston has been named vice president of marketing of Mail Processing, Inc. Located in East Providence, the company is Rhode Island’s first and only automated barcode sorting company. Dugan’s responsibilities will include all of the sales campaigns, advertising, promotional events including all local and national trade shows, and overseeing the entire sales and customer service staff. With a background in marketing and advertising, she was marketing director for her previous employer.

Hunting Custom Packaging of Lincoln has announced the following new appointments: Henry R. Kates, president and CEO; Roger N. Magnan, vice president of operations; Michael S. Andrade, vice president of sales and product development; Melvyn C. Smith, chief financial officer. The company is a manufacturer of collapsible aluminum tubes and a custom packager and filler of adhesives, sealants and silicones, serving the hardware, automotive, craft and industrial markets.

Kate Gallery-Grismala has recently joined the staff of Trainor Associates as vice president for strategic planning. She will be responsible for short and long range strategic planning. She works closely with both the marketing and public relations teams in designing programs to meet the growth goals of clients. Prior to joining Trainor Associates, the Pawcatuck, Conn. resident worked for marketing communications firms in Philadelphia and Boston. She also served as Chief Operating Officer of Connecticut Hospital Management Corporation. Gallery-Grismala also has experience in the following industry segments: hospitals and health care, biotechnology, medical devices and equipment, economic development and professional services.
