Monique Rioux was recently promoted to manager of information systems for Credit Union Central Falls. In this position she will be responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of the internal credit union computer networks, as well as the day to day operation of all information system equipment. She holds and MBA in computer information systems and a BS in accounting, both from Bryant College. A Woonsocket resident, Rioux has been with the company since 1991.

Robert Zoglio
Robert Zoglio, project manager in Gilbane’s New England region, has been awarded the region’s builder of the year award for his management of construction of the West Warwick high school and middle schools. The former project was a 20,000 foot addition to the existing high school, while the latter project included enlargement of the media center, additional computer rooms and ADA compliance modifications. Both building received new telecommunication systems and electrical upgrades. Zoglio, who has a BS in engineering construction technology, has been with Gilbane for 28 years.

Paula A. Badessa
Paula Badessa has joined The Capital Group Financial Advisors, Inc. as vice president of investor services. She will now be responsible for marketing and new business development at the firm. She will specifically focus on promoting the firm and its quality menu of services including retirement, individual, educational and estate planning for businesses, individuals and families. She will also advance the development of educational seminars to be offered to the current client base, potential new investors and the business community. Badessa joins the firm with experience in public relations, fiscal management, and program development. An employee of the City of Cranston for the past fourteen years, she was most recently the director of Cranston Economic Development for the last six.

Mark S. Burke
Cranston resident Mark S. Burke has been named president of John-son & Wales University’s new Denver, Colorado campus. Formerly vice president of student affairs, Burke and his family will soon be relocating to the Denver area, where the school will open in September 2000. Burke began his relationship with JW as a student, earning both an associate’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in management from the University. He has been employed there since 1984.

Kenneth W. Hogan
Kenneth W. Hogan has been named vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Providence Energy Corporation. He had been with Valley Resources Inc. for 23 years, where he most recently served as senior vice president. Hogan has a BA from Boston College and an MA in accounting from Northeastern University. He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, as platoon leader and captain. He was awarded seven Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, Air Medal for Valor, Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

Roger N. Begin
Roger N. Begin, vice president at Fleet Investment Group, has been named Woo-nsocket Honorary Consul of France in Rhode Island by The Office of the Consul General of France in Boston. In this position, Begin will serve as a liaison between France and Rhode island. According to General Consul Maurice Portiche, the Honorary Consul Begin will develop relationships with the business community to strengthen economic ties as well as encourage cultural development opportunities between France and Rhode Island.

MORTGAGE
Mark Roux has joined the staff of Plymouth Mortgage Company as a senior mortgage officer in the Warwick office. In this position he is responsible for the production of mortgage loans in northern Rhode Island. Prior to joining the company, the URI graduate spent five years as a mortgage originator. Roux is a Woonsocket resident, and a member of the Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors and the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.

Dallas Gulley
Dallas Gulley has been appointed director of The Providence Center’s community support services division, which provides behavioral health treatment services to Providence residents who are seriously mentally ill. He will be responsible for all aspects of administration, care delivery and operation of the CSS division. He joined the Providence Center in 1996 as a clinical coordinator for the counseling services division. Before that, Gulley spent four years as the clinic director of Advocates Community Counseling in Massachusetts. A Franklin, Mass. resident, he is an adjunct faculty member at Wheelock College in the department of social work.
Marathon, a non-profit treatment agency that daily serves more than 400 New Englanders with substance abuse problems, plans to become a subsidiary of Phoenix House, the national provider of drug abuse treatment and prevention programs. Marathon officials said the company will retain its board of directors and administrative offices in Rhode Island.
