Gregory Cabral, CPA, MST, has joined the firm of Snyder, Cavallaro & Co., Inc. as a partner.Prior to joining Snyder Cav-allaro, he was the director of taxes and assistant controller at Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company. He also spent over 10 years in the tax departments of Ernst & Young and KPMG Peat Marwick. He is a member of the AICPA and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs.

Donald C. McQueen
Donald C. Mc-Queen was recently elected executive vice president of Bank Rhode Island. McQueen will take on this title in addition to his current title of chief lending officer. A Barrington resident with 20 years of banking experience in New York and New England financial institutions, he has been with BankRI since 1996. He holds a master’s degree in business from Boston University and earned his bachelors degree at Dartmouth College.
Cheryl Pertuso
Cheryl Pertuso has been appointed sales and service manager for First Bank and Trust Company’s Cranston branch. She was previously the sales and service manager of the North King-stown Wal-Mart branch. Prior to Joining First Bank, Pertuso was the area sales manager for Filene’s in Warwick. Her retail experience also includes stints as a sales manager for Jordan Marsh, and as an account manager for RI Hospital Trust bank. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant College.

Jacob Whitford
Jacob Whitford has been named manager of the product control division of Mail Processing Concepts, Inc. after having been with the company for two years. He started out as a driver for the corporation. Whitford will now be responsible for the tracking/controlling of each mailing process from inception to completion to the final stage of delivery to the post office.

Donald S. Robertson
Donald S. Robertson of East Greenwich has joined the Providence-based firm Learning Systems International, LTD. as vice president of performance development. Robertson is the former director of training at CVS, where he worked for more than two decades. Learning Systems International provides applied consultation in organizational effectiveness, career management and business coaching for leading companies and professional services firms worldwide.

Barbara H. Mulville
Barbara H. Mulville of South Dartmouth has been named vice president of philanthropy at South-coast Health System in New Bedford. In her new role, Mulville will lead the fundraising activities and volunteer service programs for Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham, all a part of Southcoast. Her appointment is part of Southcoast’s effort to increase fundraising support for its hospitals and their affiliated programs. Mulville brings more than 30 years of fundraising and community service to Southcoast. Most recently she was vice president for external affairs at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
Molly Henderson
Molly Hen-derson, LPN, is now administrator of the Evergreen Assisted Living Home in Woon-socket; the town in which she has resided for the last 41 years. A former nurse at the Evergreen, Henderson is also the new owner. She is assisted in her administrative duties by her son, Michael. Evergreen is a 6,000 square foot, 27-bed residence on Greene Street.

The Providence Society of Financial Analysts held election of officers at its recent annual meeting. Elected were the following: Gene McCabe of Allendale Insurance, president; Timothy V. Germana of BankBoston’s Private Bank, vice president; Robert F. Landry of Amica Mutual Insurance, secretary; Peter Phillips, also of Amica, treasurer; and Barbara Williams of Phoenix Investment Management Co. will be program chairman.

Deborah M. Tate
Deborah M. Tate has been elected president of the Rhode Island Bar Association. Her one-year term began on the first of this month. A partner of the Providence law firm Skolnik, Mc-Intyre & Tate Esquires, Ltd., she has been active in the Bar’s house of delegates and executive committee in the past. Tate earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts, a JD from New England Law School, and an LLM in taxation from Boston University. She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Florida, (as well as Rhode Island?) and is a member of the American Bar Association.
MANUFACTURING
Fred Paretta
Fred Paretta has been promoted to director of sales for Teknor Apex’s consumer products division. With Teknor since 1995, Par-etta has been regional sales manager and national accounts manager, as well as acting director of sales and marketing. In his new position, Paretta will have responsibility for sales management and program development. The consumer products division is one of the country’s largest producers of garden hose. They also market a line of anti-fatigue matting and cutting boards to the food service and safety industries.
Rich A. Heinold
Rich A. Hein-old, a life-long resident of Westerly, has taken a job as zinc die-cast production coordinator at Fielding Manufacturing. He will supervise all man-ufacturing and shipping personnel, oversee manufacturing processes, maintenance and safety issues at Fielding’s die-casting facility. He joined the company in March of last year and received the company’s continuous improvement award for 1998. Prior to this, Heinold was employed for 14 years as a senior process operator and supervisor at Yardney Technical Products in Connecticut.

Brenda Dannmessier
Brenda Dann-Messier, special projects manager and LAB liaison for Brown Univers-ity’s Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratory, has been named executive director of Dorcas Place. Her background is in adult education, welfare reform, community collaborations and fiscal and personnel management. Among her many accomplishments, she has won the Claiborne Pell Award, the 1993 Commission of Women Award for Excellence in Education, the 1991 NAACP Education Award and the Rosa Parks Good Neighbor Award. Currently a doctoral candidate in educational leadership at Johnson & Wales, Dann-Messier holds a bachelor of arts and a masters of education from Rhode Island College.
PROPERTIES
The Koffler Group, owners and managers of approximately 475 million in real estate throughout New England, has announced that the Apple Valley mall is now at 98 percent occupancy. When Koffler bought AVM in 1996, it was only 50 percent occupied, but now, after $1.2 million in renovations, there are new tenants filling the void. These new businesses include TJ Maxx, Blockbuster Video, Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island, Eblens Clothing and Fashion Catalog.
