Michael J. Orabona, of North Providence, has been promoted to manager at Sinel, Wilfand & Vinci, CPAs, Inc. He is responsible for planning and supervising accounting engagements and maintaining the firm’s Information Technology System. A Certified Public Accountant sin ce 1992, Orabona joined the firm in 1998. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the RI Society of CPAs.

Andrea Reed has been appointed manager of account services at RTP Advertising. Her new responsibilities at RTP will include strategic planning and account management, as well as supervising the media relations, public affairs and event management departments. For the last four years Reed was senior account executive and production supervisor at Ahern To Bousquet, an East Greenwich public relations firm. She holds a double bachelor of arts in political science and sociology from the University of Rhode Island.

Kevin R. Kelly
Kevin R. Kelly has been promoted to vice president of business lending for Bank Rhode Island. He is responsible for day-to-day administration of the Bank’s business lending department. He will oversee the management of the Bank’s business lending relationships and new business development activities for commercial, industrial and asset-based lending. A Cumberland resident, Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and banking from Suffolk University. He has over eighteen years of experience in commercial banking. He is also a coach and former board member of the Greater Providence Youth Hockey Organization.

 

Bob Jones
DESIGN
Bob Jones has been hired to manage the strategic development of Providence’s WHY® Design, Ltd. Formerly he was with the Bainbridge group, which he founded in 1990, in East Providence. Prior to that he served in sales, management and marketing positions for industrial manufacturing firms. He is currently an ambassador for the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the New England Bookkeepers Association, an instructor at the Johnson & Wales School of Entrepreneurial Studies, a member of the East Providence Land Trust, the Home Based Business Association, and the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas E. McGunigal, Jr.
HEALTH CARE
Thomas E. McGunigal, Jr. has joined the medical staff of Landmark Medical Center in North Smithfield as a specialist in rehabilitation medicine. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. McGunigal completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at George Washington University. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also an assistant clinical professor at Boston University.

David E. Garamella
David E. Garamella has been appointed major gifts officer at Rhode Island Hospital. Previously associate director of development at Stonehill College, Garamella will implement annual and long-range plans for major gifts, corporate solicitations, planned giving and capital campaigns. Prior to Stonehill, he worked as a political consultant in private industry in Washington, D.C.

Jeffrey S. Brenner
Jeffrey S. Brenner of Barrington has been elected to serve as a partner in the Providence law firm of Nixon Peabody, LLP, as a member of their litigation group. Bren-ner concentrates his practice on land use matters, zoning issues, and complex real estate, commercial, land use and tort litigation. He received his juris doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law. While in school he was a member of the American University Law review and served as its managing editor from 1989 to 1990. He also served as a law clerk to the Rhode Island Supreme Court from 1990 to 1991. He has been a member of the zoning board in Barrington since 1992, and has been chairman since 1998. Brenner is admitted to practice in the State of Rhode Island and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

Nancy Gibeau

Nancy Gibeau has joined the South Eastern Economic Development Corporation as assistant vice president and commercial loan officer for the Southeastern Enterprise Fund. An employee of Compass Bank for fourteen years, Gib-eau was most recently commercial loan account manager. She attended the School of Banking and Credit Professionals at the University of New Hampshire; UMass Dartmouth; and Bristol Community College. She will be working with 20 participating banks throughout southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the islands.

Robert J. White
Robert J. White was recently certified by the RealNet Learning Services of McLean, Virginia, as a certified buyer representative. White, who is a sales associate with Cress & Co., Inc., is now trained in the representation of home purchasers. Cress & Co. is located in East Greenwich.

Angelo Soukas has recently joined the staff of Home-star Mortgage, Inc., as a senior loan officer. A University of Rhode Island graduate, he was employed by Fleet Mortgage Corp. for the previous six years. Soukas, a Wrentham, Mass. resident, will be serving both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
