D. Fayte Sanders
D. Faye Sanders, senior vice president and director of government affairs for Citizens Financial Group, Inc., has been elected president of the Rhode Island Bankers Association. She was formerly the secretary of the association. Responsible for managing government and political relations across the Citizens Bank franchises in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, as well as charitable giving in Rhode Island, Sanders has been with Citizens since 1978. She is a trustee of St. Joseph Hospital and Save the Bay, as well as a director of Christmas in April, Providence, the Diocese of Providence Catholic School Board and Preserve RI. A North Providence resident and Mississippi native, she is a member of the AS220 Advisory Council and the Providence College President’s Council.

Stephen A. Cardi II
The R.I. Building Industry Scholarship Fund has received a $2,000 check from the R.I. Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. The donation is a contribution for the RIBI Scholarship Fund whose goal is providing scholarships up to $10,000 to Rhode Island students to pursue a building industry education. In addition to the RIAGC, organizations supporting the scholarship fund include the Rhode Island chapters of the American Institute of Architects, Construction Financial Management Association, Construction Specifications Institute, National Association of Women in Construction, Society of Professional Engineers and the R.I. Subcontractors Association.

Stuart Schneiderman, MD
HEALTH CARE
Stuart Schneiderman, MD, has been appointed director of professional development at Roger Williams Medical Center. A board certified anesthesiologist with an MBA, Dr. Schn-eiderman has extensive hospital leadership experience and business training. He will recruit physicians to the staff at Roger Williams General Hospital, develop new medical programs, and serve as a liaison between the medical staff and the administration. Serving as Roger Williams’ clinical director of anesthesia, Dr. Schneiderman is responsible for the daily operation of the operating room. He has degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine, Yale, and Boston University.
Lin Parker, MD has been awarded a $4,400 grant by the Rhode Island Foundation to evaluate a method of diagnosing asthma. A pulm-ologist at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Dr. Parker is a resident of Mansfield, Mass. She is also an intensivist at the hospital and an assistant professor of medicine at Brown University School of Medicine. The grant money will be used in a research study on different responses to methacholine in patients with symptoms suggestive of asthma.

The Rhode Island Hospitality & Tourism Association and its Education Foundation celebrated the 10th annual “Stars of the Industry” awards last month. The event recognized various individuals in the state who displayed dedication to their industry through education, legislative, hospitality, and tourism efforts in the past year. Award winners included Monica M. Cayer of Residence Inn by Marriott; Representative James M. Dr. Margaret Munroe
Dr. Margaret Munroe, assistant vice president in the corporate communications division at Am-ica Mutual Insurance Company, received the James R. Mund Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Communications Media Management Association Conference in Florida. An active member of the CMMA for 15 years, Dr. Munroe, a West Kingston resident, has chaired the group’s Eastern Region and Long Range Planning Committees and served as the program chair and executive director of its Selection Committee. A graduate of Rider University in New Jersey, Dr. Munroe earned her master’s degree from the University of New Mexico and her doctorate of education in instructional media and technology from Boston University. She has been with Amica since 1981.

Pamela J. Toro, a partner of Partridge Snow & Hahn, LLP, has been elected a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. As a fellow of ACMA, she will work to improve the law and practice related to real estate mortgage transactions. Toro deals in conveyancing, leasing, zoning, subdivision, permitting and development. In addition to ACMA, she serves as president of the Rhode Island Conveyancers Association, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Options for Working Parents.

Ronald Pontbriant
Ronald Pontbriant has been promoted to plant manager of Crown Cut Packaging, Inc., a Pawtucket manufacturer of die-cut jewelry box inserts, folding boxes, and sleeves. He has overall responsibility for all manufacturing departments, raw material inventories, and production control. He has been with Crown for over twenty years. Pontbriant is a Cumberland resident.
Raymond Del Signore
Raymond Del Signore has joined Uncas Manufacturing Company as division manager of manufacturing and engineering. He will oversee the company’s manufacturing operation as well as directing engineering, costing and quality assurance. He has over twenty years of experience in the jewelry industry, having spent a considerable portion of that time with The Monet Group, Inc.

Trevor Cobain
Trevor Cobain has joined Image-Makers in Providence as account executive. He will consult with new and existing clientele to develop visual communication projects. Prior to joining ImageMakers Cobain worked as an account manager for a multimedia production company in Cincinnati, where he had accounts such as Proctor & Gamble, NCR Corporation and Eastman Kodak. He is a graduate of Brockport University in New York. In addition to his work in business, Cobain has produced or staged video productions and live meetings and events both domestically and internationally.
Burt Fisher
Burt Fisher has recently been appointed application engineer of Advanced Interconnections. He will provide critical technical support for Advanced’s regional managers, as well as act as a key customer liaison for new product development. A resident of Coventry, he served as a molding specialist at Advanced in the mid-1980’s. Prior to re-joining Advanced Fisher was the owner and president of Burton Tool and Machine Company in Warwick.
