Richard H. Kuehl, has announced the recent opening in Providence of the offices for his new architectural firm, Richard H. Kuehl Architects Ltd. Kuehl, whose designs appear thro-ughout Rhode Island, was a co-owner of the Providence Partnership from 1971 to 1986, and director of design for the Robinson Green Beretta Corporation from 1987 to 1999. Kuehl’s award-winning designs include the Nantucket Waterfront Revitalization, the restorations of the Trinity Repertory Theater and the Providence Performing Arts Center.

David Walsh
David Walsh has been appointed to the Licensing Board for Chemical Dependency Professionals in the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Walsh is employed as a community service representative at AdCare Hospital. He serves as a liaison between AdCare Hospital and businesses, insurers and providers in Rhode Island.

Yola Fattore
Yola Fattore has been appointed director of finance at the Lincoln School. In addition to all financial matters, her responsibilities will include managing the school’s physical plant, bookstore operations, dining room services, as well as all government compliance. A Coventry resident, she previously worked for twelve years with Nortek, Inc. She was most recently director of strategic analysis there. Since 1996 Fattore has served as a business and financial consultant focusing on financial evaluations and business strategy.

Barbara C. Ruffino
Barbara C. Ruffino of Wake-field has joined the Providence system engineering firm Merrill Clark Incorporated. A for-mer director of the Rhode Island Department of Elderly Affairs, Ruffino will be vice president of business services at Merrill Clark. In addition to her former position with the RIDEA, Ruffino most recently served as senior principal at Diamond Technology partners, a national business strategy and technology consulting firm where she led projects for national health care and investment banking clients. She has also served as executive director of Aging 2000, a research and demonstration project established to address policy and clinical care initiatives for the Medicare population in Rhode Island.
Eric Hovermale
Eric Hovermale has been named president of Mc-Laughlin Research Corporation, a multi-disciplined engineering and technical services firm headquartered in Middle-town. Hovermale served as president in an interim capacity since September 1998. Prior to that, he was program manager for multimillion dollar defense contracts, providing engineering and technical support for U.S. Navy submarine weapon and launcher system programs. He has been with the company since 1979 and is a Newport resident.

Dr. William Jeffrey Long
William Jeffery Long, MD, has joined the medical staff at Saint Anne’s Hospital. A native of Fall River, Dr. Long has returned to the city after serving recently as an attending and consulting physician in internal medicine and cardiology in Louisiana and Colorado. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Brown University School of Medicine, Dr. Long completed his internship in medicine at hospitals affiliated with Tulane University in New Orleans, La. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital through Tufts University School of Medicine.

Bradd Mellion has recently been appointed account executive, OEM Products at Key-tetch, Inc. of Warwick. Mellion is a graduate of URI and will focus on product applications with original equipment manufacturers in North America. He was most recently with Landes Lombardi Associates of Cranston.

Gil Swick
Gil Swick, former president of Lee Hecht Harrison, in Boston, has been named vice president and general manager of that firm’s new Providence office. The firm, located on Weybosset Street, is one of the world’s largest providers of outplacement and career services. Swick is a member of the Human Resource Management Association of Rho-de Island, the Northeast Human Resources Association, the American Society of Association Executives, the Automotive Market Research Council and the Providence Jewelers Association.

Andy Gordon
Andy Gordon has joined Mesa Systems Guild, Inc., as the new vice president of sales & marketing. Mesa, a Warwick company that provides in-tranet product development portals, has also significantly expanded its software development and engineering teams and increased the office space at its Warwick headquarters to accommodate this growth. Gordon has more than 30 years experience in software development, sales and executive management. Prior to Mesa, he was chief operating officer of IntellAgent Control Corporation, a provider of sales force automation tools.
Dennis J. Carvalho
Dennis J. Carvalho has been promoted to president of Poly-Flex Circuits, Inc. and will be responsible for worldwide operations. Carvalho was previously vice president/general manager for North American operations. He is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College.
