Mary Bernard
Mary Bernard, tax manager for Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. has been elected to the board of directors for the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. Also serving on several committees within the Society of CPAs, Bernard had been with KLR since 1994. She works with a variety of the firm’s individual, partnership and corporate clients, with particular focus on the firm’s not-for-profit and health care clients. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College, her master of arts in accounting from Bentley College, and her master of science in taxation from the University of Hartford.

Neil W. Farren
Neil W. Farren has been appointed vice president of Bank of Newport’s loan review and credit administration. He will oversee chief functions of this department including risk assessment for new or existing credit and quality control review procedures in the loan process. Farren will also serve as the Bank’s community reinvestment act officer. He came to the bank from the asset management division of Ameresco Inc. in Providence, where he was senior asset manager since 1997. Prior to that he was project manager at Toll Bros. of Wayland, Mass. A resident of Seekonk, Mass., he received his master’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University in Boston. He completed his undergraduate work at Providence College.

Frances M. Driscoll
Frances M. Driscoll has been appointed senior vice president for institutional advancement with Landmark Medical Center. She will oversee fund development, organizational communications, community relations, and government relations for Landmark and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. Prior to joining the organization she held the position of senior vice president for external affairs, corporate communications and development at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. Driscoll is a member of Leadership Rhode Island, and currently serves on the Rhode Island Health Services Council. She was also recently named Fundraiser of the Year by the National Society of Fundraising Executives.
Shobe Sundar, MD
Shobi Sundar, MD has been named to the department of internal medicine at Saint Anne’s Hospital. A graduate of the University of Madras, India, Dr. Sundar completed her residency in internal medicine and primary care at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She has served as a research associate in the cardiovascular division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, and Madras Medical College Hospital. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Sundar is associated with Internal Medicine Cardiology Associates in Fall River, Mass.

Kathleen McKeough
Kathleen McKeough has been appointed senior vice president of human resources for GTECH Holdings Corp. She will lead the company’s worldwide human resources function and organizations. Most recently McKeough was with Allied Domecq, PLC, where for nine years she held positions from treasurer to senior vice president of human resources. Prior to that she spent nine years with the Bank of Boston, where her last position was first vice president of Rhode Island Hospital Trust. McKeough holds a master’s degree in management from Simmons College in Boston, Mass., and a bachelor’s in fine arts from Boston University.

Norman B. Richter
Norman B. Richter has been promoted to vice president of taxes for Textron, Inc.. He succeeds Gregory Hudson, who is retiring from the company to pursue a doctoral degree at Harvard University. Richter has assumed responsibility for establishing and implementing worldwide corporate tax and customs policies. Since 1998, he has served as assistant treasurer for Textron. He joined the company in 1995 as director tax planning and senior tax counsel. Prior to joining Textron he worked for the United States Treasury Department.

Manny Pansa
Manny Pansa has joined the small business owners’ payroll company InterPay Inc., as senior vice president of product management. He has temporarily assumed responsibility for the project management of the company’s new payroll product; InterPay 2000. Formerly vice president with M & I Data Services where he was responsible for product management, customer service and sales.

Richard P. Zompa
Richard P. Zompa, president of RPZ Realty, Inc., owner of RE/Max Preferred, RE/MAC Town & Country and RE/MAX Properties, announced the offices’ year end sales for 1999. The offices were responsible for participating in a total of 1,705 closed sales transactions and closed sales volume of $198,974,789 during the year. This represents a 32 percent increase from 1998 sales. Zompa’s offices finished #76 out of 2,865 RE/MAX offices in the United States.

Dana M. Cunningham
Dana M. Cunningham has joined Nationwide Title & Escrow Company, Inc. of Providence, as director of marketing. She will be responsible for all marketing and advertising efforts. A Seekonk, Mass. resident, Cunningham has spent the last 15 years in the credit, collections and mortgage industries, most recently as an account manager for credit data of New England, where she managed a number of capitol accounts in the Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts area. She currently serves as president for the Credit Executives Association of Southeastern New England. She is also a member of the Southern Massachusetts Credit Grantors, where she is director, as well as the Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers, and Financial Women International.

Maria M. Kerwin has been appointed director of business development for ClinCare. She will be responsible for identifying clinical trials in the company’s key therapeutic areas.
