C-PACE discussion to focus on energy efficiency

PROVIDENCE – The city and state of Rhode Island on May 3 will host a free, hourlong information session for owners of commercial and industrial buildings who want to make their buildings more energy efficient.

The discussion at the Providence Foundation offices will concern a government-sponsored building modernization program called Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy, or C-PACE.

The city of Providence’s Office of Sustainability and the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank will co-host the event. The program is designed to save business owners money on their energy costs while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In a C-PACE transaction, qualified lenders provide long-term fixed-rate financing to building owners who want to upgrade their buildings with energy-efficient equipment or renewable-energy features.
