WARWICK – Older adults in the Warwick area have a new option for primary care, thanks to Care New England Health System.
The network has opened a new facility on Toll Gate Road, where geriatrics clinicians and an around-the-clock nurse call system are among the amenities offered to patients.
The center also offers transportation to and from appointments via Uber Health, same-day appointments and eligibility for enrollment in Integra Community Care Network LLC’s accountable care organization programs.
Programs and classes are planned at the center as well, including exercise classes, fall prevention and recovery workshops, education for patients and caregivers, and programs on nutrition.
“As an age-friendly health system, CNE is dedicated to improving health care for older adults and creating care that is tailored to patients’ health care needs and convenience,” said Dr. Ana Tuya Fulton, executive chief of geriatrics and palliative care at Care New England and medical director of Integra. “Offering services that specifically cater to the older-adult population in our community, from high-quality clinicians to transportation services to our around-the-clock call system, this practice speaks directly to their needs.”
Geriatric medicine outpatient consultations are also available at the center through Care New England’s geriatric medicine consult practice.
“This practice will allow us to provide care specifically designed to address the issues older adults may face at this time in their lives, both clinically and nontraditionally,” said Dr. James E. Fanale, Care New England’s CEO and president.
The center joins another recently opened facility dedicated to older patients in Warwick. Oak Street Health, part of a national network that serves people on Medicare, opened earlier this month in partnership with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
