CCRI Hosts Rhode Island Promise Enrollment Days in August

WARWICK – The Community College of Rhode Island is holding two sessions in August to help recently high school graduates planning to attend CCRI enroll in the Rhode Island Promise scholarship program.

Enrollment Day sessions allow incoming students to apply, learn about financial aid options, speak with adviser and student-service representatives and register for courses.

The sessions will take place on Aug. 6, from noon to 6 p.m., and Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Great Hall on the Knight Campus in Warwick.

The Rhode Island Promise program offers recent high school graduates to attend CCRI for two years, tuition-free. In order to be eligible, students are required to enroll full-time each semester and maintain a GPA of at least a 2.5.

About 300 CCRI students graduated last spring under Rhode Island Promise, the program’s first graduating class.

Prospective students attending the sessions will be allowed to take the ACCUPLACER college placement and will receiving assistance on completing the Free Application for Federal State Aid. Information will be available about CCRI’s transfer agreements with more than 70 four-year institutions, including Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island, through the college’s Joint Admissions Agreement program.

Students attending Enrollment Day must bring a photo ID, high school transcript and 2017 tax returns (both for the student and parents). For more information or to register for an upcoming Promise Enrollment Day, visit ccri.edu/ripromise.
