CENTRAL FALLS – The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation is supporting the launch of a new mobile food pantry in Central Falls through a partnership with the Central Falls Foundation aimed at expanding access to fresh food for residents facing barriers to food access, the foundation announced Aug. 4.
The mobile food pantry will provide regularly scheduled distributions throughout the city, bringing fresh food directly into neighborhoods for seniors, families and other residents who may face transportation or mobility challenges.

The initiative is designed to address food insecurity in Central Falls, one of Rhode Island’s most densely populated communities, by making essential resources more accessible to residents who may have difficulty reaching traditional food distribution sites.
The charitable foundation provided funding for the program, along with reusable shopping bags that will be used during pantry distributions.
“Access to healthy food is fundamental to building strong, resilient communities,” said Harold M. Horvat, chair of the charitable foundation and chairman, CEO and president of the bank. “We’re proud to support a program that removes barriers, serves people with dignity and delivers critical resources directly to those who need them most.”
Bridgette M. Duquette, executive director of the Central Falls Foundation, said the mobile food pantry represents a step forward in addressing food insecurity and ensuring more residents have access to nutritious food.
The mobile food pantry is now serving Central Falls residents through regularly scheduled distributions across the city.
