PROVIDENCE – Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee announced a shift in his staff, moving Communications Director Michael F. Trainor out.
Christine Hunsinger, who served as director of legislative affairs, will take over for Trainor.
Chafee said that Trainor will fill an open position at the communications department of the Office of Higher Education and will assist with strategic planning, design, and implementation “as part of an ongoing overall restructuring of the office.”
Brian M. Daniels, formerly Chafee’s Director of Policy, will fill in for Hunsinger as the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs.
“I have a great staff that has been a tremendous asset in my first months in office,” said Chafee in a news release. “We are currently redeploying staff members in order to continue to maintain a lean, flexible staff that is able to serve the people of Rhode Island effectively and with increasing efficiency.”
Hunsigner was formerly the campaign director for Moderate Party gubernatorial candidate Ken Block in 2010, according to her LinkedIn profile.
