City, CommunityWorks, Home Depot team for playground

PROVIDENCE – The city yesterday partnered with CommunityWorks RI and Home Depot to build a new playground in a single day.
The 2,500-square-foot playground in Providence’s Elmwood neighborhood was funded by a $57,400 Home Depot grant and $10,000 in city funds.
Along with an expected 75 volunteers from CommunityWorks RI and the surrounding community, Home Depot volunteered 165 employees for the 7.5-hour construction.
United Way of Rhode Island’s Community Impact Fund and the national nonprofit KaBOOM! also contributed to the project.
